Shaffer Remote Drilling Choke Description
Fluids circulate from the well bore while holding any desired back pressure rating of the choke. The system includes one or two hydraulically operating chokes, pressure transmitters for drill pipe and annulus pressures, and a floor-mounted control panel. The Shaffer Remote Drilling Choke’s advanced technology meets the challenges of well pressure control, MPD and UBD drilling in challenging environmental conditions.

The Shaffer Remote Drilling Chokes design increases the oilfield operators service life and cost savings in high-pressure applications. Because of these high pressure applications, an operator uses these drilling chokes usually where substantial amounts of solids and abrasives are present. The Shaffer Drilling Choke System is compatible with any rig design. The choke system is compatible with control consoles, therefore operates with rig air or optional electric pump.
Most importantly, the conveniently arranged control console panel allows operation of one choke, or two chokes simultaneously. It also allows monitoring of well-killing data from any desired remote location. Finally, fluids can be circulated from the well bore while holding any desired back pressure within the pressure rating of the chokes.
